June Book Update

I made the goal to read 30 books this year.

As of today I’m at 29.

I feel like I might have Scottied this a bit. You know, say you need an hour to fix something that’s really only going to take you fifteen minutes. So that when you finish early you look like a miracle worker.

In my defense, two of these were very short.

You may wonder why I report this. I report this because for 8ish years I hardly read anything. It’s good to read if you’re a writer, and I need to keep doing it more. So that’s why you get to hear about it. Some of it is genre research, other books I read because they look cool.

Here’s the list of books I either read or listened to in June.

Adult Science Fiction
The writing was good. Characters solid. It’s the first book of a second series that these characters are in. I wasn’t confused, but I did feel behind when I read it.
Lots of adventure and good worldbuilding.
Clean RomCom
This is an adorable, super short romcom that ticks all the boxes and left me super satisfied with the characters, the romance, and the small town of Friendly.
Adult Science Fiction
Ah, the magnificent Skippy and the crew of the Flying Dutchman. This is book seven of this series, and it was as fun as the others before it.
I listened to this one.
RomCom
Fun romcom that had me laughing as I was painting. Solid characters. Good chemistry. I listened to this one.
There is some language and inuendo in this one, if that’s something you’re worried about.
Adult Science Fiction
Alien invasion and the destruction of the human race. Almost. The point of view on this one bounced around quite a bit. Don’t get too attached to anyone. Very action packed and cool battles!
