The Prince and the Poor Girl

I found this gem while cleaning out my room at my parent’s house. I have no memory of this story. At. All.

I estimate it being from 3rd grade. Ish.

Translation: (I didn’t fix errors)
Once upon a time in a beautiful kingdom lived a prince. He was a handsom prince. He was not married. He was looking for a princess to marry. The prince met a poor girl of the kingdom. The gilrls name was Darla. He falls in love with the poor girl
There was an evil witch in the kingdom. The evil witch tries to steal the girl away.
The prince does not let her. He puts guards all around the castle and the courtyard. He also puts guards out side Darlas room.
The witch cannot get through the doors of the castle. The guards are waiting for the witch.
The witch will have to change her appearance so she can fool the guards.

Translation:

She will have to change into something small shuch as a red ant, a grasshopper, a bee, a butterfly, a fly, or a spider. She decides to change herself into a red ant. She makes a drink out of onions, garlic, lizard brains, cat tails and snail shells.
She says the words “Boom Drum Plop”. She taps her toe ten times, wrinkles her nose, and knocks her knees. She changes herself into a red ant.
She heads for the castle. She crawls under the gate and into the courtyard. She goes around the shrubs. There she finds a crack in teh castle wall. The crack leads her to Darla’s room. The crack goes under the bed that is in Darla’s room.
Darla is sitting at a tabel in the center of the room eating lunch.

Translation:
The ant crawls out from under the bed. The ant inches her way slowly toward the tabel. The ant reaches the tabel. Then the ant starts toward Darla’s shoe.
Just then a servent comes into the room. The servent steps on the red ant while giving Darla a drink. The red ant was crushed by the servent’s shoe.
The evil witch is dead. Darla and the price are marirried in a week. They live happily every after.
